Workshops on Ancient Knowledge

The Caral Archaeological Zone, through the Community Relations Unit of the Ministry of Culture of Peru, implements and promotes its technical-productive and artistic workshops. These spaces are geared towards strengthening cultural identity, fostering gender equality, and improving the family economy of local populations within the Caral Civilization area.

Workshops on Ancient Knowledge

The “Workshops of Millennial Knowledge” are participatory spaces promoted and presented during anniversaries, festivities and special activities developed in the archaeological sites managed by the institution.

Through these demonstration workshops, visitors and residents can learn about and participate in activities related to weaving with plant fiber (reed), clay modeling, the making of the traditional "God's Eye", a representative activity of the educational program "Caral in the School", and the musical tradition inspired by the Caral Civilization, approaching in a practical way the ancient knowledge and techniques that are part of our cultural heritage.

These experiences reflect the ongoing work carried out throughout the year in educational institutions and communities in the provinces of Barranca and Huaura, with children, youth and adults, promoting the strengthening of cultural identity, the appreciation of heritage and the transmission of traditional knowledge.

Be part of our workshops and learn alongside our master craftsmen.
