The Caral Archaeological Zone, through the Community Relations Unit of the Ministry of Culture of Peru, implements and promotes its technical-productive and artistic workshops. These spaces are geared towards strengthening cultural identity, fostering gender equality, and improving the family economy of local populations within the Caral Civilization area.

The “Weaving with Vegetable Fiber (Reed) in the Supe Valley and its area of ​​influence” rescues and highlights the traditional weaving techniques with reed and other vegetable fibers, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources and the transmission of knowledge between generations.
During the workshop, participants learn about the processes of selecting and preparing materials, and about weaving with reeds to create utilitarian, decorative, and artistic pieces. The aim is to foster creativity, collaborative work, and the recognition of cultural heritage as a key element for achieving local development.
