“Caral in School” is an educational initiative promoted by the Caral Archaeological Zone (ZAC) that seeks to bring the school population closer to the knowledge and appreciation of the cultural heritage of the Caral Civilization, strengthening the link of new generations with the history and identity of their territory.

Through experiential workshops, recreational activities, projection of audiovisual material and participatory dynamics, primary and secondary students learn about the progress of archaeological research carried out in Caral, Áspero and Vichama, as well as the “values ​​of Caral”, related to social organization, cooperation, respect and sustainable development.

“Caral at School” also promotes creative experiences through activities such as clay modeling, reed weaving, making God's Eyes, and other artistic expressions inspired by local cultural heritage. These activities allow schoolchildren to learn in a practical and dynamic way about the importance of protecting and preserving the cultural legacy of the oldest civilization in the Americas.

Likewise, “Caral in School” encourages students to visit the archaeological sites managed by the ZAC, giving them the opportunity to learn about the cultural heritage of their locality and understand how archaeologists and social scientists work in the research and construction of historical and social knowledge.

In this way, “Caral in the School” contributes to the strengthening of cultural identity and to the formation of citizens committed to the appreciation, defense and dissemination of cultural heritage as a basis for social and community development.
